Urban Outfitters Haul|Spice Up Your Summer Wardrobe

Have you ever walked past Urban Outfitters and not actually gone, in because you thought it was outside your budget? Or you just didn't think you were cool enough to actually rock their clothing? Well even though the latter could be true for you, it's sometimes therapeutic to shop for yourself, and this does mean splurging once in a while. And yes, Urban Outfitters is tailored for 20 somethings yeard olds, but this shouldn't stop you, or you shouldn't feel disheartened, as fashion is about expressing what you want in your life. And if you want a new fresh look, that makes you not only look beautiful but brings out your youthfulness this summer, then let fashion decide! And not people's comments that you can't be in your 40s and dress and feel sexy, because I sure didn't! And I don't let social norms that being a mum or just an older woman, you have to hide away in unflattering outfits! And retail therapy is about dressing for success, so if you want to feel young, dress like it! And throw away those unflattering dress! So, to help you out a bit as I know it can be daunting, here's what  I brought from Urban Outfitters.

Long Maxi Skirt + White Crop  Top

This is what I call my beach babe look! So, with the length of the skirt, you would think it would be heavy, but its the complete opposite. Instead, it's so freeing, that it has me dancing, as the skirt flows with your movements. While the added slit at the front means that you don't have to walk like a penguin because the split creates added movement and space. This is helped by the lightweight cotton/linen material used, that not only feels like amazing quality, it also looks it! Plus, the flowers are a great touch, as long maxi skirts can sometimes look military, but these flowers make them more dainty. Which is why I chose this linen white crop top, which gave me beach girl vibes. In addition, the color of the top which is a mix between white and light cream, add values, as it does not overpower the skirt, but it's also not so plain that it's unnoticeable.  So, overall this is an outfit I would definitely wear on a picnic or beach day out that doesn't involve swimming.

Denim Shorts + Pink Long Crop Top

I'm the kind of person that either goes for denim jeans or denim short shorts, not really anything in between! And I'll admit when I brought these let's call them quarter length jeans, I was initially skeptical, as it's a style I've never tried before, until today. And let's say I was actually pleasantly surprised, being that even though they're denim, the jeans are quite soft, which does allow for some movement that I wasn't initially expecting. But that doesn't mean its stretchy and doesn't mean that you can go down a couple sizes, it just means that like me you don't have to pull, and jump up and down just to get into the jeans! So, yes these quarter length shorts definitely agree with me, and the dark blackish/grey color compliments the pink crop top so well, that I feel as if it gives these denim shorts a pinkish hue/tint! Or it may be that I loved this color so much, I feel like its combined with these denim shorts(haha). Another perk about this top is that the elastic band at the bottom means you can pull it down so that it meets the jeans and goes from a crop top into a cute pink top. or if you prefer it be a crop top, the elastic at the bottom is flexible enough so that when you place it on your belly,  as it snaps right into place.

Wide Leg Jumpsuit

I definitely had to add a jumpsuit into the mix, and this cute little jumpsuit I must say is the perfect find, as it's a mix between sexy, comfortable, and 'i can literally take on anything' vibe. The linen material is loose, meaning that even though the color is black, it won't stick to your body, as it has a bit more of a resistant to sweat. And the wide leg style gives you more of a wider range of option of various shoes you can style it with, and not having the awkward moment when the jumpsuit doesn't quite reach your ankles so it seems it's way too short for you. Instead, it covers the ankles, meaning it can be placed over any shoe of your choosing. But I must say if you want to be a bit more daring without showing to much skin, the side boob is your perfect go too, as it adds the much-needed sexiness to this outfit, giving you a creative look. But do be careful and make sure the jumpsuit covers half of your boob at the front as we wouldn't want to have a case of a nipple slip!!

Playsuit

The reason why I'm in love with playsuits is that they're literally so playful, as they show off your legs. And this is exactly what I got from this playsuit, plus it's not too short that your bum hangs out, and not too long that it makes your legs look short. Instead it loose at the sides giving the illusion of wider hips, while the belt that is attached to the waist is long enough that you can tie it tightly. Which is very helpful, as without it I don't like how it sits on my body, as it looks too baggy, as due to the material, it means it drops down a bit more than I would like. On the other hand, the material does have its perks, as linen provides a cooling layer which is derived from the fibers that are weaved into the fabric, that allows more airflow, meaning that it is less likely to stick to the skin.  Additionally, at first glance, the brown of this playsuit seems quite dull, but trust me it can still be styled with dark colors accessories and footwear. Plus it has pockets!!

Yellow and White Smock Dresses

A good dress can make all the difference and I was able to find two of these in Urban Outiffters, one is a yellow smock dress, with a puffy shoulder design to die for. The puffy shoulder style leaves room to either wear them covering your entire shoulder or if your feeling fun that day, wearing them halfway down your shoulder, which transforms the dress into an off the shoulder dress. This means you literally have two outfits in one!

While the white dress, opens at the back, and the dress itself also has some form of elastic near the boob area giving your breast the needed lift, if you choose the go braless. Overall, both dresses give you a sort of cute angelic feel, and I must say, someone, did mistake me as my daughter's sister when I wore the white dress!

So that's it for today, but if you want tips and ideas on how to style these five outfits, please watch my styling video by clicking on this link here:
